Marge informed members of the passing of Bill Schneehagen and Sandi Heinlein. Sympathy cards were sent, notices were posted in the Sun Paper and donations were made to the charities of their choice.

A get well card was mailed to John Cochran

The GM Traverse Program successfully concluded on November 3,2008.

 

We have extra booklets from the Dept. of Aging thru the December meeting if anyone wants one.

 

Anyone who wishes to notify their congressional representatives concerning their support for the Automotive economic rescue plan can call toll free 866-927-2233.  Also, there were reference sheets and phone numbers of Senators and Representatives available at the meeting.

 

We had guests from Kaiser Permanente: Francesca Conner & Jerri Steinkraus.  They spoke after the meeting closed for a few minutes providing an overview of what they have available and stayed to answer questions.

 

Jim Smedley mentioned receiving calls from the media pertaining to our health care situation.  He replied no comment.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but he advises that we use caution when discussing information with the news media.

 

An expression of appreciation was given to all the GMSRC members who have been able to visit the funeral homes for our deceased members.
