Jim Smedley and Skip Shiflett have been busy working with the Baltimore Museum of Industry trying to set up a display. They are hoping that upon completion when you visit the GM display you will be able to push several buttons, see a narrative about the plant, and a slide show containing old pictures and old commercials. There will be an area with artifacts such as patches, brochures, and other items that were handed out through the years. The grand opening should be one Sunday in June. The Museum plans to have an antique car show on the same day. We really would like for all of our members to come to the Grand Opening. We will keep you informed.

Jim welcomed the people who were attending the club for the first time and those who rarely visit the club.
GOOD OF THE CLUB:
Jim received a notice from the GMbenefits website about the status and funding of the GM pension fund which came out February 19th. Al Komin distributed the notice thru our E-mail process. Since there are people who don’t have E-mail, Jim handed out copies of the notice, which consisted of a series of 12 question and answers relative to the pension fund. The pension fund is a little under funded. The salary pension fund has a deficit of $1.7Billion.
Jim also mentioned the 4th quarter report posted by GM came out today. GM reported a $ 9.6 billion loss in the 4th quarter and burned through $6.2 billion in cash in the last 3 months of 2008. GM lost $30.9 billion for 2008. We just have to hope and pray for the best.
Please if you know of a death of a club member kindly notify Marge Stock or Betty Bonner as soon as possible so they can respond in a timely manner. Chuck Reibert also needs time to activate the Hot Line
