GOOD OF THE CLUB:

The club started in 1974 and will celebrate its 35th anniversary this year.  Usually, there is a party every 5 years to celebrate.  Bernie Vetter is starting to plan this years’ celebration.  The celebration is tentatively scheduled for Sunday August 2, 2009 at Rosedale Gardens.  The celebration is free to all members.  If you wish to bring a spouse or significant other who is a non- member, the cost will be approximately $25.00.  More information to follow.

The lunch rates will be going up starting in June:

$3.00 for Pizza and $4.00 for all other meals.

As far as any legal issues go, Jack Summers and Jim are receiving about the same information as everyone else does from the local newspaper.

Jim had copies of a letter he received from GMRA (General Motors Retiree Association) stating what they claim to do and on the back is a membership form.  Their intentions are good, and they mean well.  You are welcome to come up and get a copy.  If you wish to join or read their internet site please do so.

Last month Zach mentioned looking into obtaining a group rate from Blue Cross Blue Shield.  To do this we would need at least 100 members to sign up for the coverage. We think this would not be feasible at this time.

MEETING DATES: June 25,2009

Food will be cold cuts and salad.  Cost $4.00
