GOOD OF THE CLUB:
We will be obtaining our lunch from Costco next month. We will see how this works out for the club.
Last month we discussed the issue of allowing domestic partners or life partners becoming members of the club. The members in attendance last month voted yes to this proposal. In order to add this to the By-Laws the membership needs to vote on this proposal at three consecutive meetings. Last month was the first vote. We proceeded with the second vote. “All those in favor of allowing life partners into the club please raise their hand.” There was an overwhelming approval. We will have the third vote next month.
The subject of allowing hourly retirees to join the club was also talked about last month. Since that meeting, Jim has received a lot of feedback on this subject. A motion was made to cancel the proposal. The motion was seconded.
The last issue was the possibility of changing our summer meetings back to evening. Jim received a lot of feedback concerning this subject. The majority was negative. Jim Hines made a motion to cancel this idea. The motion was seconded.
