GOOD OF THE CLUB:
The Board of Directors had a meeting to discuss ways to reduce some of our costs. They decided to wait till after the bull roast to see where the club stands financially. Listed are some of the ideas mentioned:
1) Do away with lunches.
2) Determine cost of crab feast based on prices of crabs one month before the event, or possibly eliminating the crab feast.
3) Compare costs for Bull Roast hall rental with other places
4) Consider the cost of DJ versus Live Band
5) Discontinue December meeting starting 2011since we have the Christmas Party prior.
This past year we had the expense of the Anniversary party. We won’t have that expense again for 5 years.
The issue of allowing domestic partners or life partners becoming members of the club has to be voted on for the last time. The membership present voted yes to this proposal. The By-Laws will be amended accordingly
We did not serve lunch today because we need a few days ahead of time to place the food order. Due to the weather forecast it was questionable as to whether we would be having this meeting. We do not want to purchase food that will not be eaten.
This month is the 5 year anniversary of having our GM website
