NEW BUSINESS:

It looks like General Motors could file its first paperwork for an initial public stock offering next week.  The IPO registration is the first step in the process of getting approval from Securities and Exchange Commission to become a publicly traded company.  A stock sale could come in November or probably not later than early 2011.  It appears that most of the shares to be sold will come from those held by the United States Treasury, which accounts for 60.8 percent of the automaker.  Roughly one third of the government’s holdings are to be sold in what may well be the biggest IPO of all time.

Tim Stansbury is asking for your support in his fundraising efforts for the 24 Hours of Booty bike ride event that he will be participating in again this year in August.  Last year he raised $8,000.00.  This year to date he has raised $1,842.00.  Tim left donation forms and envelopes up front for anyone interested in helping him achieve his goal.  Great or small he will appreciate your support for a good cause.

GOOD OF THE CLUB:

If you received a letter about a class action suite and you were part of the settlement you can go to the GM benefits website. After logging in, click on the plan link from the home page, then click on the sources tab to view the “Litigation Proceeds” to find out what you received or you can call 1-800-489-4646.

Al Vojik brought up the subject that some members are confused over the dates of our club meeting.  Right now our meetings are the 4th Thursday of each month.

Skip mentioned that Jim is talking to the officers of the club to see if they are willing to stay on for another term.  Any one interested in taking over a position please contact Jim.  With Angelo Onoratos passing we will need to replace him as a board member.
