The Bull Roast did fairly well, we sold 267 tickets.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

 

The Trustee position has been filled by Bill Brannan.

We still need someone to take over the selling of raffle tickets for our Bull Roast next year.

 

Our  by-law committee will meet after lunch today.  The next step will be to take our recommendations to the Board of Directors and then to the membership for approval.

HISTORIAN:  Skip Shiflett 

 

BMI has a new director.  We have a meeting set for the end of May to discuss refreshing our display. We will keep you posted.

 

WAYS & MEANS:   Clara Hunt   

 

Clara thanked everyone who helped with the bull roast.  The bull roast was a success.  Everyone  had a good  time.  Clara was applauded for another great job.  The Bull Roast for next year is scheduled for April 16,2012. There will be a increase in the price of the ticket next year.

 

Jim  thanked everyone who helped with the bull roast selling tickets and working the wheels.  Especially Betty Bonner, Angela Thomas and Jack and Sheila Gill.  The members applauded them for the fantastic job they did.

Last month we reported we had 90 members who were on our roll for 2010 but had not renewed for 2011.  Betty sent out reminders and envelopes with the minutes.  Betty said she received 19 replys out of 37.  Al  took a tally of the membership roll and we now have 44 people that have not renewed for 2011.

Jim welcomed new members.

 

The GM retiree website  has been in touch with Jim  and Skip. They will be doing stories about members that will be posted on their website, we will discuss this at a latter date.

 

We really encourage members to use the GM Retiree website. There's information about benefits, other GM retiree clubs and information for all kinds of discounts. Flyers are up front  giving directions on how to sign on to the website. Directions: Go to www.GMRetiree.com and click on "REGISTER" under "First time visitor? Register now." Enter the last four digits of your Social Security number, birth month & day, zip code and follow the steps to complete the registration process. 

GM  has provided us with magnetic note clips to promote the Retiree website, available up front on table.

 

The GM Baltimore Operation Plant, which we refer to Allison Transmission, will have a open house and building expansion announcement on May 18th from llam. to 7pm.

 

Al Komin announced that Gary Slater,a member of the club, will be returning to Baltimore from Arizona for the summer.  He wishes to purchases a used vehicle that is in good condition and reasonably priced. If you have one, or know of someone who wishes to sell a vehicle call Gary Slater --480-993-7075
