PRESENTATION OF BILLS: N/A
Jim said there was a live chat over the internet on March 20th. Jim missed the chat, but Jack Summers sent him an update. Randy Aricxk, executive director of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications answered questions regarding GM’s financial performance. Highlights are: a) Regarding the government’s stake in GM--the government is not involved in the operations of the company, but it is difficult to predict when they will sell their shares of stock. b) Regarding salaried pension funding--it is a top priority. The current funding is 90% and our goal is to reach 100% funding. c) Regarding expectations of GM’s cost this year--costs should be flat. Engineering, marketing and overhead should be lower while launch costs of products will be higher. The areas to concentrate on to lower costs are material and product development. d) Regarding stock value--Stock price started at $33.00 a share, currently it is $25.25 a share, and most analysts have GM’s share price target in the mid $30.00. e) Regarding stock dividends--A dividend to shareholders is not planned at this point due mostly to instability of our business in Europe. f) Regarding US sales--Jan. & Feb. sales exceeded expectations. We forecasted selling between13.5 to 14 million units this year, but based on Jan. & Feb. it may end up being about 15 million. Jack said the company has 35 billion cash on hand.
GOOD OF THE CLUB:
Jim welcomed new and infrequent members.
The issue brought up at the last meeting about the MVA not issuing notices to renew driver’s licenses fortunately turned out to be false. Jim said if you have had an eye examination within a year of your renewal, you can take your form and have your Doctor fill out the information and you don’t have to go to the MVA and take the eye examination. This can be done every other time your license comes up for renewal.
Jack has the petitions, for anyone who wishes to sign, regarding the gay marriage issue being put on the ballot.

Jim said he has been president for the last 4 years. Now that his wife is retired he feels that he cannot be as involved with the running of the club as he has been. Jim said he will be on the Board and will be at the meetings when he can.
