NEW BUSINESS:

 

GM to seek court protection against ignition suits. GM said it would ask a U.S. bankruptcy court to bar plaintiffs from proceeding with lawsuits against them for claims related to any actions before it filed for bankruptcy in 2009. GM said it would shortly file a motion in the Bankruptcy court for the Southern District of New York to enforce an injunction contained in its sale order, which the company said bars plaintiffs from suing the reorganized company for any claims related to the predecessor company.

 

Making Trax: Chevrolet Bringing Small SUV to U.S. Market Chevrolet announced it will bring the Trax small utility vehicle to the U.S. market for the 2015 model year. The Trax, named after a 2007 Concept vehicle, has been on sale in Canada and Mexico since late 2012.

 

GM Issues More Recalls, Now More Than 5 Million Vehicles Involved. Keeping to

their word of taking no chances with potential safety issues, GM announced additional recalls late Friday. Unrelated to the company's recent ignition switch recall, bring the total amount of recalled GM products to over five million vehicles. In an effort to keep up with the recall , we've compiled a list.

 

Ignition Switch Recall

Impact:2.6 million vehicles, Vehicles Involved: 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR, 2005-2010 Pontiac G5/Pursuit, 2006-2010 Pontiac Solstice, 2003-2007 Saturn ION, 2007-2010 Saturn Sky.

 

Side Airbag Wiring Harness

Impact: 1.18 million vehicles, Vehicles Involved: 2008-2013 Buick Enclave, 2009-2013 Chevrolet Traverse, 2008-2013 GMC Acadia, 2008-2010 Saturn Outlook.

 

Noncompliant Instrument Panel

Impact:303,000 vehicles, Vehicles Involved:

2009-2014 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana Commercial vans.

 

Brake Booster Pump Corrosion

Ed Kidd started in 1958. He worked in many different areas over the years.  He was involved in starting the plant softball league and the plant golf league.  He made many life long friends. In 1990 after 31 years of service, he was offered and accepted a retirement.  He now resides in Calabash, North Carolina with his wife Rose Marie.(We appologize to Ed, we did not have a working microphone and could not record his talk).
